Portland's Arborists Since 2006
We Know Portland's
Trees Personally.
Canopy & Crown started as a two-person crew with one chipper and a passion for proper arboriculture. Nearly two decades later, we're still locally owned, still ISA-certified, and still the crew Portland homeowners call first.
Our Story
Built for Portland's Trees. Built to Last.
Portland is a city of trees — Douglas firs, big-leaf maples, Western red cedars — and its homeowners take them seriously. We were founded by ISA-certified arborists who felt the same way, and who were tired of seeing big-box crews treat Portland's canopy like a liability instead of a treasure.
We built Canopy & Crown around a simple principle: every tree removal we do is one we couldn't save, and every pruning cut we make is one we'll stand behind five years from now. That ethos shapes how we train our crew, how we give estimates, and how we talk to homeowners about what their trees actually need.
We also live here. Our crews know the neighborhoods — which streets flood when the Willamette rises, where the oldest specimens are, which slopes see the worst windthrow in a storm. That local knowledge isn't something you can download. It's twenty years of showing up.

How We Work
What Sets Us Apart
ISA Certified on Every Job
Not just the estimate — our certified arborist is on-site for every removal and complex pruning. You're getting expert eyes on the work, not just oversight from afar.
Honest Assessments
If a tree can be saved, we'll tell you — even if removal pays us more. Our reputation is worth more than any single job, and Portland homeowners know it.
Emergency-Ready, Always
When a storm drops a cedar on your roof at 2 AM, you need a crew — not a voicemail. Our 24/7 emergency line is answered by an actual crew member, every time.
Fully Credentialed
Licensed, Certified & Insured
Hiring a tree crew without checking credentials is one of Portland's most common homeowner mistakes. Here's exactly what we carry.
ISA Certification
International Society of Arboriculture certified — the gold standard for professional tree care expertise.
Oregon CCB Licensed
Licensed with the Oregon Construction Contractors Board. You're protected if anything goes wrong.
Liability Insurance
Full $2 million general liability coverage. Your property, your neighbor's property — all covered.
Workers' Compensation
Full workers' comp on every crew member. You're never liable if someone gets hurt on your property.
Where We Work
